Salutations! My name is Dan Levine and I am the Coordinator for Israel Engagement at Brandeis and I am here to help you travel to Israel with Taglit: birthright-israel.
What is Taglit: birthright-israel ? The Taglit: birthright-israel trips are designed specifically and explicitly for those 18 to 26 who have never been to Israel on an organized trip.

During Brandeis’s most trip, we traversed the deserts of the south to the lush, green mountains of the north. We kayaked the Jordan River and watched the sun rise over the mountains of Jordan from atop the legendary mountain of Masada. Together, as the new community we created—along with the eight young Israeli soldiers who joined us—we experienced Shabbat at the Kotel (the Western Wall) in Jerusalem, the holiest site to the Jewish people.
The second part of my role is to facilitate Taglit: birthright-israel alumni in creating programs and experiences to keep their community together and also include those who are yet to experience and create their own Taglit: birthright-israel community. Right now, for example, some of us are working on an Israeli film series for the upcoming 2008 Fall Semester for the whole school, while others are working on Israeli Dining Nights, exclusively for Taglit: birthright-israel alumni.
At this point, I’m sure your wondering how to you can get yourself on one of these trips, nachon (“right”)? Simple. Go to www.israelfree.com and follow the link on the left next to “FAQ” to find out if you’re eligible! If you have any questions, holla my way: dlevine@brandeis.edu, x65272
