Student Groups

B’yachad, Brandeis’ Israeli dance troupe, holds open dancing sessions each semester and performs regularly both on- and off-campus at cultural events, parties, and Israeli Folk Dancing Festivals.

Hillel Theater Group (HTG), one of the largest and most active theater groups on campus, is the only theater group that does not rehearse or perform on Shabbat or Jewish holidays.  HTG co-produces 24-hour Musical at the beginning of each school year, and produces a play in the fall and a musical in the spring.  All who audition for 24-hour Musical and the spring musical are guaranteed a role.

Brandeis Organization of Sephardic Students (BOSS) increases awareness and appreciation of Sephardic Jewry and culture, through communal activities, ethnic experiences, education and spiced food.

Manginah is Hillel’s co-ed a cappella group.  They perform original, contemporary, and traditional songs in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish. Manginah regularly performs on campus to enthusiastic audiences on- and off-campus.

Holocaust Remembrance Committee (HRC) commemorates and educates about the Holocaust, specifically planning large-scale remembrance programs around the Kristallnacht anniversary and Yom HaShoah.

Shalem is Brandeis’ Jewish LGBTQ group. They hold frequent discussions and plan programs about LGBTQ issues in relation to Judaism.

Brandeis Israel Public Affairs Committee (BIPAC) is the Brandeis affiliate of AIPAC, a bipartisan pro-Israel group focused on strengthening the US-Israel relationship.
